What is a Nutritionist.

A nutritionist is an expert in understanding the relationship between what we eat and how it impacts our health. Nutritionists work with clients helping them assess diet intake, aid in meal planning, monitor nutrition, and make changes to eating habits and lifestyle changes.

They often work one-on-one with clients who have a specific goal or health concern: pregnancy, diabetes, obesity, other medically-related issues, sports performance or unhealthy relationships with food. Other clients might struggle with food restrictions, have disordered eating, come from a background with limited access to healthy food or simply want someone else to plan meals for them.

Nutritionists offer dietary advice on the role of nutrition in chronic disease, including possible prevention or remediation by addressing deficiencies in a holistic approach before resorting to prescribed medications or surgical options. Living a healthy lifestyle can improve your longevity and productivity and reduce or prevent healthcare costs.

Meet the Nutritionist.

Hey, It’s Ashlie! After spending more than15 years as a competitive gymnast, learning how to properly (and improperly) fuel her body to perform at the highest level for competition, nutrition was exciting and overwhelming. It doesn't have to be that way!

Ashlie graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos, TX, with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Foods - Go Bobcats! As a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) for Nutrition and Health Professionals, she has completed 1,000 supervised practice hours and completed an examination covering a spectrum of nutritional science and applied clinical topics.

Ashlie has worked in the medical and nutrition field since graduating in 2008, specializing in women and children, with a particular emphasis on athletes, pre/postnatal, diabetes, medically-related issues like rheumatic diseases with anti-inflammatory diets. She spent 10 years working with school districts speaking with students and student-athletes about body image, and properly preparing for game day by fueling their minds and body.

Furthering her experience, Ashlie has spent several years in specialty pharmaceutical sales - we can assure you she knows how to gab and is passionate about creating relationships and offering continuous support to those on their wellness journey. She encourages individuals to tune in to their body's needs and with the help of research-based education, guides them to cultivate unique and sustainable behaviors.

How it Works.

Most diets fail because they are unobtainable; goals set too far out of reach, restrictions too daunting, all without instant results. Counting points, restricting, and missing out on fun activities will leave you miserable and hungry all day.

We will start with a FREE 15-20 minute strategy call so you can learn more about the services and get to know one another. We discuss some of your concerns about working together and the best approach to help you achieve your goals.

Memberships will have all the details of the plans available.

FAQs.

  • What makes this program different?

We all have triggers that cause us to make poor food and eating decisions; Social settings, family commitments, alcohol, sugar - just to name a few. I help you identify these triggers, arm you with strategies to overcome them, and how to navigate any situation - eating out, vacations, etc.

Traditional restrictive diets can help you lose weight in short bursts (the yo-yo” effect) but ultimately these diets don’t help you keep the weight off.

You have a coach in your corner every step of the way to support you, and understand you are human - its ok if you stray from the path, the progress isn’t ruined.

  • Will I be hungry?

You won’t be starving yourself to see results. If you are hungry all the time you can’t be successful - in a career or daily life. I have many strategies to help you feel fuller longer and satisfied until the next meal.

  • Can I still drink alcohol?

Depending on your specific situation, I may ask you to reduce or even change your drink of choice. Remember the plan we make together is for you and your lifestyle, not making you fit the plan.

*certain medical conditions and medication restrictions do apply*
